How to clean Glass Doors
Want to leave visitors with a good impression of your home? The first thing people see when arriving at your home is your front door, and if you have a glass front door you may find that it gets dirty very easily on account of it having to battle the weather on a daily basis.

The Tools for the Job!
You’ll need:
• White vinegar
• Distilled water
• Dusting brush, old toothbrush and cotton swabs
• Lint-free cloth
• Sponge
• Microfiber cloth
• Spray bottle
• Soft dusting cloth
• Old newspapers
• Glass squeegee tool

How to Get Started
Wipe away any dust or loose dirt with a microfiber cloth in a downwards motion so the glass frame catches it. Give the frame and sill a wipe afterwards followed by any hinges or handles.
Sometimes you can find a buildup of dirt in the corners of the glass panes, you should be able to remove these with an old toothbrush or a cotton bud.
Make sure you protect wooden frames and windowsills from any damage by placing old newspaper along the sill to catch any stray drops of cleaning solution - you don’t want it seeping into the woodwork!
You can buy glass cleaners in the shop that don’t contain any ammonia or alcohol, but it’s just as simple to make your own using white vinegar and distilled water. Mix equal parts into a spray bottle for an effective and eco-friendly homemade glass cleaning solution.

Why mix your own Glass Cleaning Solution?
Well, it’s worth the extra effort. White vinegar cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes almost any type of surface due to it containing acetic acid, while distilled water will ensure that you’re not left with any streaky deposits following the clean.
Tap water, which much less fuss, contains minerals that are just itching to leave streaks all over your nice clean glass panes. Your windows may smell faintly of vinegar immediately after the clean, but a quick air out will rid you of that problem.

On with the Cleaning
Spray your homemade solution directly onto the surface of the glass, and rub away any dirt using a sponge. We suggest that you rub in a circular motion as this is the best way to remove all of the spots and ensure a clear and shiny surface. Press gently to allow the solution to work its magic, making sure to spray in different areas of the glass and work across the whole surface.
TIP! Try to keep the solution away from the door frame or anything other than the glass in the door.

Drying the Glass
The most effective way to dry the glass is to use a squeegee. Start in the upper corner of the glass and gently pull the squeegee in a downwards motion. Repeat until the whole of the glass is dry and clear. To finish, simply pull the squeegee across the bottom of the window. Once you’re done, quickly take a dry, soft cloth and wipe the glass in one direction only across the whole surface. We emphasise that you must do this quickly to avoid streaks. Buff the glass with a microfiber cloth if you have one handy, otherwise old newspaper will do the trick. Make sure you don’t use paper towels! These are also big offenders for leaving streaks on your glass.
Now you’re done! Try to do this every few weeks both inside and out to keep your glazed doors sparkling like new.
