The range of industrial style doors on sale at Leader Online
We stock a huge range of industrial style doors to suit different aesthetic preferences and practical requirements. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find something that ticks your boxes and elevates your interior.
Below is a list of the types of industrial style doors available from Leader Online.
Styles
- Fire Doors - Our industrial style Fire Doors are FD30-rated, meaning they provide at least 30 minutes of fire and smoke resistance. They are essential for settings such as integral garages, loft conversions, HMOs, and blocks of flats.
- Bifold - Our industrial style Bifold Doors are hinged panels that fold neatly back against the wall, saving you valuable space compared with standard doors that require a wide swing arc. This allows you to create an open-plan environment or a clear divide between rooms when required.
- Double/Pair - You can achieve the perfect combination of open-plan living and separation and privacy with our sleek, modern double door sets. They are designed to redefine the functionality of your space while maximising natural light flow.
- Panelled - This classic door style features recessed or raised panels and solid, opaque materials. Diverse and affordable, our panelled industrial style doors provide good structural durability, energy efficiency, aesthetic versatility, and thermal insulation. This makes them the natural choice for traditional homes, period properties, and high-traffic commercial environments.
Finishes
- Fully Finished - Your industrial style doors arrive with a coat of lacquer having already been applied at our factory. You don’t have to paint, stain, oil, or varnish them, which is perfect if you’re time-poor or managing a renovation project to tight deadlines.
- Unfinished - Your industrial style doors arrive as raw timber and are essentially a blank canvas for you to put your own visual stamp on. You can sand, stain, paint, varnish, or oil them from scratch.
- Primed - Your industrial style doors have a base coat of primer already applied, ready for painting any colour you like.
These are some of the most common questions we get from our customers regarding industrial style doors.
Are all industrial style doors Crittall?
No, but all of our industrial style doors get their design inspiration from the steel frames of Crittall windows, which go back almost two centuries.
In 1884, when Francis Henry Crittall took over his father’s company, he saw the potential in using steel for window frames over timber. This manufacturing process resulted in a slimmer frame and a larger area of glass versus traditional timber frames of the time.
These windows have become associated with industrial, Modernist, and Art Deco architecture in the UK, and their black, grid-like look remains a staple feature of contemporary interior design.
The industrial style doors that we sell are made from timber, not steel, but they feature the same thin black frames and geometric grid patterns that are associated with Crittall windows.
What are the benefits of industrial style doors?
Industrial style doors are bold, classic, timeless, and full of character.
If you’re looking to create an ‘industrial chic’ vibe that is both contemporary and a nod to early Modernist and Art Deco architecture, these doors do that.
They don’t cost an arm and a leg, either. Our industrial style internal doors are priced from as little as £120, so you can still get that polished, luxury look without breaking the bank.
Can I get an industrial door without glass?
Yes, you can purchase panelled industrial style doors that don’t have any glass.
These doors have the same bold geometric design and clean lines as their glazed counterparts while providing superior privacy and sound insulation.
As such, they’re well-suited to spaces where the constant flow of natural light is less essential, such as bedrooms, home offices, meeting rooms, and utility rooms. They're also worth considering if you have young children and don’t want them to come into contact with glass.
Ultimately, you still get the same industrial chic effect but without some of the maintenance challenges as you’d encounter with a glazed door.
How do I clean and maintain industrial style doors?
How you clean and maintain your industrial style doors will depend on whether or not they’re glazed or panelled.
For glazed doors, use a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove surface dust and dirt from the door frame, handles, and corners. Wipe in a downward motion.
To clean the glass, mix equal parts white vinegar and distilled water into a spray bottle. Spray your solution directly onto the surface of the glass, and rub away any dirt using a sponge or cloth, focusing on smudges and spots. Rub in a circular motion.
Dry your door with a lint-free cloth or squeegee to avoid streaks. Keep a close eye on the edges where the glass meets the frame, as this is where dust tends to gather.

The cleaning and maintenance of panelled industrial doors is slightly simpler.
You should wipe them down using a damp microfibre cloth mixed with dish soap or mild washing-up liquid around once a month. If you have a primed industrial style door, avoid abrasive sponges and harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
This last tip applies to both glazed and panelled industrial style doors, but you should check the hinges every six months to see if any of their screws have come loose through repeated usage. Tighten any loose screws at the earliest opportunity, otherwise your door could start sagging, causing it to drag along the floor and scrape against and damage the frame.

What door hardware do I need for an industrial door?
You can complete your industrial style door with our different hardware, including our matt black Studio Door Handles. Their ultra-modern Italian design is sleek and unassuming and complements the classic appearance of your door rather than competing with it.
If you need hinges to go with these handles, we recommend purchasing colour matched hinges over painting hinges for a cleaner look.
From handles and hinges to our locks and latches, we’ve got you covered whatever component(s) you need. You can choose from different finishes, including traditional brass and stainless steel, depending on the look you want.
Finally, if you’re buying one of our FD30 industrial style Fire Doors, you'll also need fire-rated hinges (BS EN 1935 Grade 13, three per door) and an intumescent strip kit if not already fitted.
How much do industrial style doors cost?
Our industrial style doors are suitable for a range of budgets, costing anywhere from £30 to £480+.
